Producteev by Jive - Task Management for Teams App Reviews

I am a very visual person, I miss when the logo was still colorful! The interface was so much more lively and friendly and easy to use for organizing work and school. Now it looks super corporate and mechanical, I no longer use it because I feel miserable looking at the dark blue colors and all the stuff I have to complete.

I’m using Toggl for time tracking and there are no options to use this in the desktop app. I have to use the browser web app to use toggl’s time tracking. If Jive fixed this issue, I’d have no problem with their desktop app. I would much prefer the desktop app to the web!

Love the product, but since upgrading to El Capitan the app has been crashing every ~5 minutes

The app worked fine until upgrading to the new Mac OS X El Capitan. It now is basically unusable. I can MAYBE get a message off before it crashes. The website works fine but it’s hindering my workflow incredibly becasue I’m not getting the notifications on my desktop and have to refresh the page on the website. I’ve posted (as several others have) on the support forum but there has been no response in the last five days. I’d give them them the benefit of the doubt if we were to get a response that they’re working on it but as of now I don’t know when or if this is going to get fixed.

Searches require at least 4 charaters to begin to show matches and don’t indicate to which projects the results belong. This is very annoying. The window to add a new task often disappears and somtimes saving doesn’t work. Unfortunately, the upgrade to OS X 10.11 El Capitan causes it to malfunction and crash continuously. I cannot recommend it now. The website and iOS apps are much better.

I have written this in seveal places at this point, with no response from Producteev or Jive (the creators). After updating to El Capitan, Producteev crashes whenever there is a refresh on tasks, which makes it extremely hard to operate. Not only is this obnoxious, but detrimental to productivity. I hope the app will be updated soon. Also, a feature that I believe is critical to all productivity apps that is not in Producteev, is the ability to sort by date while considering priority at the same time. So if two tasks are due on the same day, the one with the higher priority will be placed first on the list.

Can’t use the app on El Capitan… Keep on crashing on everything you are trying to do with it.

I have used Producteev for over a year now. I enjoy the iPad app and use the the browser interface on my windows and mac computers. I just became aware of this app for Mac OS and installed it. Two issues became immediately apparent. First, the user interface is not operating as expected. One example is that it is difficult to widen the left hand column which lists users, projects and labels. When I hovered the mouse over the vertical dividing line between the left column and the right column (where tasks are managed) the mouse did not turn into a resizing arrow. Clicking and dragging on that vertical line did nothing. I tried this a couple of times between crashes and reboots and eventually I was able to widen the left hand columnn so it was not cutting off the words. However, the mouse still did not change shape or behave in normal IOS fashion. I am an experienced Mac user (bought the first 128K Mac in 1984) and am proficient with software. Second, the app crashes quickly, everytime I tried to use it. Cannot do anything because it won’t stay running. When I clicked on the sort command it crashed. When I clicked on a person to list their tasks, it crashed. I can’t remember the other three or four different functions I attempted to used resulting in the app crashing. My Producteev database is VERY SMALL. Only one user, with about 8 projects and only 6 or 7 tasks per project. I’m running an updated install of El Capitan on a MacBook Air with intel Core I-5 chip, 8 gigs of RAM and a 256 SSD. I hope Producteev can get this fixed. Till then, I’ll go back to accessing Producteev via the browser interface, which works extremely well.

Constant crashing now that I upgraded to El Capitan. Please fix! The website is ok but much prefer a native app and it worked well before the OS upgrade.

Currently the Producteev app is crashing constantly with the update to the iOS El Capitan, but I’m sure the team will get this fixed A.S.A.P.. Still works great on previous operating system versions. This is the most helpful piece of task management software I’ve ever used. I use it along with a few other people for work EVERY SINGLE DAY. I am in love with this program. The only thing I would like to eventually have would be a view that shows the tasks in a calendar type view similar to a Gantt chart for project management for those of us who have collaborative projects but not the money for the super expensive Gantt chart software, which is usually much more clunky than Producteev. This is my most used piece of software beside Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop on a daily basis. Been using this since 2011 or 2012 to handle every single task in my daily work. Also REALLY great for those of us who are A.D.D. and need lists to make everything manageable.

All the other negative reviewers are right. Producteev worked great until I updated to El Capitan. Also, no response from the company so it doesn’t look like they plan to fix it at all. BEWARE!

Can’t get this application to open and stay open, ever. I use the web page, and it’s fine, but I’d really like to see this application working!

I use it on an mac book pro and on my phone. I love the product, but since the new OS it crashed every 5 minutes. Fix that and it is a 5 star again.

Please fix this issue asap.

Has been crashing constantly for months. Totally reproducable 100% of the time when deleting an item or refreshing (at least). Crash logs show obvious (and likely easily fixed) coding problems (such as dereferencing null). Total lack of response by devs. I conclude that they are not serious about their business.

Great App, loved using it until update now app is worthless. Uninstalling until issues are fixed. Ashame they cannot fix a simple bug and now their reviews plummet.

Constant crashes

El Capitan users beware — the app currently crashes after opening. You can still use the product through Safari, your iPhone, or older versions of the Mac OS. I can’t say enough how much our small company (10 employees) loves this app for assigning each other tasks and seeing them get completed over time. The ability to upload files and comment in real time is also incredibly helpful. I use this everyday. Particularly useful is the cross platform easy and seamless operation between iPhone, Mac (prior to OS update) and web. I agree with another user’s comment, that the addition of a Gantt chart functionality would be incredibly useful for us small businesses that can’t yet justify more expensive project managment software.

JIVE REFUSES TO UPDATE THIS PRODUCTEEV APP. DO not download, do not buy! It has been two months now and Jive has yet to release a fix for this, what seems very simple, crashing bug. Producteev crashes every time it opens on El Captain. Waste of a perfectly good app.
