Besides lacking its iPad’s counterpart, the Mac app is slick, fast and works like a charm!

This is a great app, splitting the difference between too simple to do lists and overly complex project management apps. One additional feature that it could really benefit from, for my use at least, is the ability to add notes to Projects, and not only to Tasks. (If that is already an option I sure can’t find it.) There is often a lot of additional information that I would like to keep track of in relation to a Project as such, but which disappear if they are recorded as notes to Tasks when those are marked done. Hope to see this soon, thanks WCE
are you sure the sub stask feature is working?
Great app, the task dont always disappear when completed.
When you create a new private project and try to add people to that project, the app crashes. Using OSX 10.9.2
The native app feel is also good to have though.
Great service but needs improvements for better workflow. Specifically, sorting of tasks need to stop chaining. Every time I re-open the app I have to switch the ordering from the default to my preffered settings…annoying, but not major, yet a simple feature that should be already set in place. Other minor thins like these are experienced, but overall a good service. It just needs to get rid of all the nick-nacks and be more polished.
Producteev is awesome for organizing and managing tasks, especially the ability to manage across multiple devices.
I would like to be able to export data into CSV selectively (i.e., export all of my teams projects, but not private ones), and the ability to export AT ALL from the Mac. (You can export in the web UI, but apparently not from the Mac app.) Maybe the ability to insert a timestamp into each entry once they are closed, as well as the amount of time spent on each task. Also, the ability to group projects into folders would be useful. Otherwise, I do like the user interface, and the ability to collaborate (so all of my team members know the status of each project and subtask.)
When I assign a due date to a task, it takes a few seconds for the server to re-sort the list. The delay disturbs my workflow and interrupts my thought process. It seems like the developer should move some of the sorting, tagging auto-complete, and other logic to the client side. Sometimes I have to set a due date several times in order for it to stick.
I installed this version, and now i cant open the app. i have to go to the website to log in.
Version 2.3 crashes immediately on start. Sadly :(
I like the software but when you cant use it its a big bummer… I know we can use the website but I prefer the app. Please fix! Thank you.
Amazing tool, similar to its competitors but it’s free! Can’t wait for an update to include the Calendar app.
WHAT GIVES!!! WAS A GREAT PROGRAM LACKS GREAT TECHNICAL SUPPORT…
Version 2.3 causes app to crash upon login. Wont work at all.
But seriously - it really is awesome for the money. I challenge you to find a better, fully collaborative, project planning/sharing tool for what this costs. For a non-profit it’s almost a no-brainer - unless you’ve got real money to spend - in that case, definetly go shopping. Even with all of that, and in spite of my sincerely and positively impressed view of Producteev, I do wish for the following: - That the Mac app would be fitted with ALL of the features of the web app. - That there was a viable way to back up, locally, the database, and that the backup would be in a standard project management format. (There used to be a Google-based solution to this issue, but that is now obsolete and I have not been able to find any alternative.) - That, when you call Jive tech support, that the support personel were at least aware that Producteev exists, and that it technically falls underneath Jive’s umbrella. Still, for the money - it really is quite good.
Awesome, love it so far. It’s a nice way to cut down on Browser clutter and Producteev as a service in general is pretty solid for our needs. HOWEVER, this app is lacking information that the web app shows. One example: When opening a task detail view through tasks assigned to yourself, there isn’t any information about which project that task belongs to. There are a few other inconsistencies like that, but that, by far, is my biggest grip. Keep up the good work, though!
As a task manager its nice, but without being able to create task templates like in Redbooth or Basecamp, its kind of useless for groups of people larger than maybe 3 or 4. Most agencies have a set list of tasks that need to be completed for every type of project they work on. Having to manually type in every task is extremely tedious and makes this app useless. Even just the simple addition of being able to duplicate a project would be helpful.
With their recent add of a calendar view, this app is by far the best tool available for managing projects for teams, business and personal. You can have different groups as “Networks” so you can keep you project organization separate for different parts of your life and work. You can start and assign new tasks in a really convenient shorthand, or even via email. Tasks have follewers, assignees, priority settings, due date and time, notifications, subtasks, uploading files, chat, and much more. You can also record keyboard shortcuts as well as plenty of other features I’m forgetting at the moment. There are only two things that would make this better than most paid task/project management solutions: 1.) Task/Project Duplication or Templates. You cannot duplicate a previous task, or copy a group of tasks as a default setting. This may not be important to most people/orginazations, but you may consider it a “missing” feature if your are an agency that has set tasks for each new project. You can set tasks to repeat and many different variations though. 2.) No Gantt charts. A Gantt chart is common in many highend task management solutions. Similar to a pipeline, it displays a barchart of all the various levels of a task. This is a robust feature and many teams or individuals do fine without it. There are premium options for branding, Microsoft Outlook, 4/7 support, and some other additional features.
